Die zentrale Aufgabe des esc medien kunst labor ist die Produktion von Kunst. Den Schwerpunkt bilden künstlerische Prozesse, die neue Technologien und deren Auswirkungen auf gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen untersuchen und zum Inhalt haben. Die künstlerischen Aktivitäten des esc medien kunst labor werden davon bestimmt, dass die Kunst als Teilsystem der gesellschaftlichen und sozialen Wirklichkeit begriffen wird; der medienspezifische Aspekt leitet sich von der Designation dieser Wirklichkeit durch neue Kulturtechnologien, Neue Medien her. Die queer-feministische, solidarische Grundhaltung ist selbstverständliche Basis für die Entwicklung und Begleitung in der Produktion neuer Werke.
The central task of esc medien kunst labor is the production of art. The focus is on artistic processes that examine new technologies and their effects on social developments. The artistic activities of the esc medien kunst labor are determined by the fact that art is understood as a subsystem of societal and social reality; the media-specific aspect is derived from the designation of this reality through new cultural technologies, new media. Queer-feminist solidarity is the natural basis for the development and support in the production of new works.
